Making Chai Spiced Sugar Cookies
I love to make these cookies in the fall but they are good anytime of year. They are a basic sugar cookie with the added flavors of chai tea. Especially delicious when served warm.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 1/4 cups confectioner's sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon each: ground cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 1/4 cups confectioner's sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon each: ground cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Slowly add dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Mix until well blended.
Scoop and place onto a cookie sheet 3 inches apart.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.
Cool on a cooling rack or....
...serve warm with a tall glass of milk.
