Oil field ring. Flat bar. Tools needed: Welding machine, tape measure, clamps, torch and grinder is all the tools you will need. It is always a good idea to work as safe as possible so it's best to have a good pair of safety glasses, gloves and fire extinguisher or water hose near by.

You will need 2 rings. Start by cutting each ring in half.

Weld the 2 half rings together. 1 side will make the holder and the other side will make the legs.

Next I had some flat bar 1/8 x 1 1/2 inches
Which I used to connect the 2 ends together for bracing. I put 3 on top to keep smaller logs from falling through. I also put 2 on the bottom to support the legs.

The rack is 16 x 16 x 16. Just right to hold a few logs next to your fire place. All the materials that were used came out of the junk pile. The only thing that cost was the little bit of wire I used for my electric welder. Just a couple cans of spray paint and job complete.
