Minecraft - Reaction Archery Range

2016-06-25_15.18.19.png

Hello! In this instructable, i will show you how toi make a minecraft archery range with popup targets. I have tried many different designs of archery range, but the all lack the unpredictability of real minecraft combat. You never know when a creeper will slip behind you, and, well you know the rest. To stop from having your beautiful home ruined, (i hope that home is my mountain house from my earlier tutorial) you need pracitce with a bow. Bows are arguably the most overpowered weapon in minecraft. (I MAY get some hate mail for saying that.) A fully charged non-enchanted bow does as much damage as a diamond sword, or 3 and a half hearts. Given that this weapon is RANGED, it can be incredibly devastating in the hands of an experienced bowman. (the stone biricks in the background are my prototype self- defending castle walls. I hope to do an instructable on them soon.)

Step 1: Build Your Base

The first thing you want to do is build a 3 by 3 square, and put redstone torches on two blocks on each side. This will invert the signal from the pressure plates, making transmission easier.

Step 2: Add Your Pressure Plates

You can add for or eight pressure plates, I recommend four so the targets are not always up.

Add the Walls + a Little Redstone

Make the walls 2 blocks high, and then add redstone dust next to the torches

Add Inverters

Put some basic redstone torch inverters next to the redstone dust.

Repeaters Galore

Put a gigantic line of repeaters facing away from the middle.. I put down 9.

Torch Tower

Put the reapeaters facing into a block. Then put a torch on said block. Put down another block on the torch. Repeat.

Build the Popup Glowstone Targets

Put a piston facing up on the final torch, and then put a glowstone block on that.

Cage the Villagers

Spawn 3 villagers in the box, and build a platform on top of it for you to stand on. To make the villagers move more often, spawn a zombie OUTSIDE the box. The villagers will run activating the pads. Then the zombie will chase them again, and they will run onto other pressure plates.

Have fun with this - KINGKUMA OUT!
