Mini Night Light
I never really like the dark. I also didn't like stumbling around in the dark until I trip and fall onto my bed. A regular night lightdoesn't help me find my bed, but this night light does.
Materials
You will need:
Clear plastic container
Highlighter (food coloring, paint, markers, powder, just something to color the water)
Pencil
Scissor

Get the Coloring
Take off the end of the highlighter, stab a pencil into the felt, and take it out.
Coloring the Water
Fill your container with water. Squeeze the felt so drops of color come out. I find it works best if you first dip the felt in water, wait a few seconds, then squeeze. If you don't want to squeeze it, just fill the container with warm water and place the felt inside. Keep squeezing (or waiting) until the desired shade has been reached.
Turn the Lights On!
Put a flashlight at the bottom of the container and turn it on.
Variations
Instead of using a regular flashlight and regular ink, try UV ink and a UV flashlight. I tried this, but I didn't have a lot of the ink. Maybe yours will turn out better. You can also try adding glitter. Or maybe you can replace the water with epoxy. Instead of filling it will water at all, try covering the outside with colored paper. I like this variation best because the flashlight slides right into the tube, making a very compact nightlight. It also has a bright light at the end like a regular flashlight while the paper softens the light so it won't hurt my eyes.
