Mixing Paint

For the most part, paint mixing sounds pretty simple. Figure out what kind of paint the customer wants, then go get the can. Open it up, add the paint, then mix it. But, it might be a bit harder for the new employee. Therefore, these instructions were created to explain mixing paint and make it so anyone can do it.

To begin with, take the customers paint card and select a paint brand in the computer behind the paint counter. Then enter the paints name into the designated slot Paint Name. After that, click on the box near the bottom that says Paint Type. Find out if the paint is interior or exterior, and if the customer wants the paint to be Flat, Semigloss, or Satin. Next, enter the information given and then click Print Label to the right.

Now the employee will take the paint label and use it to find the necessary paint can. The info on the card has 2 parts. The top part will mention if the paint is Interior or Exterior and if it is Flat, Satin, or Semigloss. The bottom part will mention what kind of base to find, such as Accent, Bright White, or Medium. Follow the label exactly or the paint will not mix right.

Once the can has been found, take it back to the counter and open it with the tool hanging by the counter. Place the open can under the paint dispenser and then click the option on the computer that starts dispensing paint. After that, close the lid, using the hammer, and be sure to place the paint label onto the can lid. Then place the can into the mixer. Press the button to start it, and wait a few minutes for it to mix.

Open the can up to ensure it has mixed properly. Take a cotton swab from under the counter and swipe some paint onto the can label. Use the blow dryer, also under the counter, and dry the paint. Compare the dry paint to the paint card from earlier to make sure the paint matches. Lastly, give the can and a paint stick, on the right side of the counter, to the customer.
