In this Instructable i’ll show u how to make a Mouse Trap Racing Car.

The rear axle of this car is driven by a Mouse trap. This project was really fun! Let’s start!

​Things You'll Need

Things you'll need:

  • 1 Mouse Trap
  • 5 Popsicle sticks
  • 2 Skewers
  • 1 Piece of rope
  • 4 Bottle caps
  • 2 Small straws

Tools you'll need:

  • Soldering iron
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

​Mounting the Rear Axle

Mount 2 popsicle sticks to the Mouse trap using some hot glue.

Cut 2 small pieces out of a small straw and mount them on the end of the popsicle sticks. Make sure they are perfectly opposite each other.

Now take a skewer and use scissors to cut it to the right size.

Make small holes in the middle of 2 bottle caps using your soldering iron.

Mount them to the skewer using some hot glue.

​Mounting the Front Axle

Cut a straw to the right size (same as mouse trap).

Mount the straw at the front of the mouse trap using some hot glue.

Now take a skewer and use scissors to cut it to the right size.

Make small holes in the middle of 2 bottle caps using your soldering iron.

Mount them to the skewer using some hot glue.

Cut 2 popsicle sticks at an oblique angle.

Connect them to the mouse trap using some hot glue.

Now take another popsicle stick and mount it to the top of the 2 other sticks.

​Connect Mouse Trap to Rear Axle

Final step is to connect mouse trap to the rear axle.

Take a piece of rope and tie it to the mouse trap.

Use some hot glue to make sure it stays at the right spot.

Tie the other end of the rope to the rear axle.

Don’t use hot glue this time! The rear axle should turn freely.

Set the mouse trap and tighten the rear axle…
