No Solder Vga Extension Cord.
You need a longer vga cable for what ever reason. (Note you have to be careful as this will strain some vga ports). Seen several vga via ethernet extesion cables that use ethernet. Generall they have you soldering pins, but there is a better way. One ohter shortcoming of the soldered cable is you are locked into that length. much easier to just use the ethernet cable a crimp thens on the lenght you need.
Parts and Tools Needed.
Parts:
Vga cable to disect.
Two rj45 female connectors
Vga gender chanager (if the cable has two male ends that requires a female to femaie connector(
Ethernet cable of proper length.
Tools:
wire cutters /stripers
paper and pen to map wire pinouts
Continuity tester or ohmmeter
Push down tool

Vga Pins to Use.
You have 15 pins, but you do not need all of them unless you were using a monochrome monitor which is unlikely..
with 15 pins, take away 4 pins that are not used.that leaves 11 pins. You have six ping that can be combined into one cennec tion. That removes another 5 pind that will not be used, so 11 - 5 pins eans that you only really need 6 pins after all. we will actuall use 8 pins for comaptiblility reasons.

Prepare the Cable.
Cut the vga cable in half.
Strip the outer covering off the cable.
Strip the ends of all the inner wires so you only bare the minamal amount of wire on one end only. .(At least and inch before stripping.)
Note: PVC pipe cutter is good for removing the out cable shell.

Wire Numbering
Use your ohmmeter or continuity tester to map out the wire color to each pin and record it on paper. Makes doing the other end a cinch.
Adding the Cable to the Female Connector.
Take all the ground wires and twit them together, (5 and 6-10)
In order, place wires to be used in easch separate slot and then use the punche down tool to make sure the wire is secure.
Do the rest of the eight wires.
Repeat the steps witht he second cable.
Cut off bare wire on ends so nothing shorts out when testing.
Insert network cable and test.
If everything works, cut of extra wire coming out of the female adapters
If not, check your work and start over if need be.

Put It Together and Test.
Put it to work. Obviously, the network card needs to be in the machine. Just done to make things a liggle clearer.
