Non Electric Laundry Press

As part of our non electric laundry series, this process takes the wet, clean clothes, and presses the water from them before hanging them on the line to dry. You will need 3 buckets, one lid, and a hand drill with a 1/4" wood bit. You can see the bucket washer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYY7pfAjGIk

Using a hand drill, drill a series of holes in the bottom of one of the buckets. Your wet clothes will go in this bucket.

Take the second bucket and drill a 1/4" hole in the lower side. The water from the strainer collects in this bucket, and drains out this hole.

The last bucket is the seat. Put the lid on the bucket. Drill no holes. You can use this bucket to store your detergents and accessories like clothes line and clothes pins.

Insert the strainer bucket into the collector bucket. Put the wet clothes in the strainer bucket. Insert the seat bucket into the strainer bucket. Sit on the seat until no more water comes out of the hole in the collector bucket. Hang clothes on line to dry.
