Nonslip Grosgrain Headband
This is my first Instructable. I hope it is easy to follow & enjoyable.
I wanted a nonslip headband in a pink camo pattern, but couldn't find one I liked. This is a very easy project for anyone who can sew a straight seam on a sewing machine.

Here's what you'll need for a women's adult headband:
18" grosgrain ribbon *
18" velvet ribbon *
5-1/2" braided (NOT folded) one-half inch elastic
Pins
Sewing machine
* my grosgrain & velvet ribbon were 7/8" wide each. You can use any width you want, as long as they are the same.

Pin Elastic to Ribbon
Lay grosgrain ribbon on work surface, right side up. Center elastic on right edge of ribbon & pin pieces together. Lay velvet ribbon on top, velvet side down, and pin all layers together.
Sew End Together
Using a 1/4" to 1/2" seam, sew elastic between two ribbons. Clip ends at an angle.
Sew Other End Together
Making sure not to twist elastic, pin it to the other end of the grosgrain ribbon. Lay other end of velvet ribbon on top, and pin all layers together. Sew this end together & clip as you did for the other end.
Get Headband Ready to Sew
Again making sure not to twist ribbons or elastic, turn work inside out so that the wrong sides of the ribbon are facing each other (right side of grosgrain & soft side of velvet are both now facing out). Pin along length to hold ribbons together.
Sew All Pieces Together
Sew along long edges, staying as close to the edges of the ribbons as possible.
