Nyan Cat Curtain Border

Make Nyan Cat fly above your curtains, hiding the curtain rails / rod.

Materials needed:

• Cardboard
• Color printer
• Velcro strips
• Glue stick
• Stapler
• Scissors

The curtain border is made of a combination of 3 different parts: trail pieces (which go on the left), the Nyan cat (in the middle) and empty space parts (which go on the right side).
You can download all of them from this step of the instructable or here.

They will be put next to each other to make a single border. Print as many as you need to get the required length and ratio of trail to space. I put Nyan Cat about 2/3 of the way to the right.

Cut out your Nyan cat pieces.

Also cut out pieces of cardboard ca. 1.5 cm wider and a few millimetres smaller vertically than the paper coutouts. This will allow overlapping as well as ensuring a sharp outline

Glue a piece of cardboard to each paper cutout. Make sure to align the paper at the top of the cardbaord and always keep the cutout on the same side.

If you have larger pieces of cardboard available, it might be easier to make fewer, larger Nyan Cat pieces.

I used velcro tape to attach the curtain border.

The non-curly side was attached to the curtain rail with a stapler. The result is a long line of velcro, at right angles with the ceiling.

Attach small pieces of velcro (at the top) to the back of each piece of cardboard.

These don't have to be large at all, as they need to support very little weight.

Mount the cardboard pieces on the velcro tape.

Start from the side that doesn't have overlaps and make sure that the trail pieces fit together visually. You might want to simply cut the last 'space' part to make it fill the rest of the available space.
