This project is more to get used to Onshape, so it is not very detailed. It is really the basic shape of a monitor with a few of the baic curves that one would have. I'm hoping to make a more detailed one later on.

Start Base Sketch

Now we can open a new document and begin to sketch. Start by selecting the top plane as your sketch plane and then making a rectangle that is 3.489x2.047. Now extrude it by -0.12.

Base Curves

Now just do a basic fillet of the edges of the base rectangle.

Support Connectors (Part 1)

Screenshot 2021-05-25 9.39.07 AM.png

now make a sketch on the top of the base and place a line on the middle of the base and then place a circle on one side and then mirror it. now extrude it by 1.3.

Support Connectors (Part 2)

Screenshot 2021-05-25 9.41.59 AM.png

Now we have to make a curved part so it can hold up the screen. To do this, we need to first start a sketch a line in the middle of each circle and make it reach out to the first line on the base as shown in the picture. now we can surface extrude the lines to around 1 inch.

Support Connectors (Part 3)

Now make a sketch on the side of one of the surfaces and create an arc from the center of the circle to somewhere on the edge of the upper side end like in the picture above. repeat for the other side and then sweep them. now we can hide the 2 surfaces to show only the things we want.

Back Monitor Piece

Screenshot 2021-05-25 9.48.30 AM.png

Now we can make the back piece of the monitor. simply start by using one of the ends of the sweep as your sketch plane and then make a line from the center of each sweep. now make a center-point rectangle in the middle of the line and make it 3.218x1.761. then extrude it by 0.4.

Detailing the Back Piece

Screenshot 2021-05-25 9.51.04 AM.png

now chamfer the top and bottom of the back piece and fillet the left and right like the pictures above.

The Screen

Screenshot 2021-05-25 9.54.33 AM.png

Now we make the last part, the screen. To do this choose the front of the back piece to be the sketch plane and create a rectangle that is 4.535x2.347 and then extrude it by 0.52. Then fillet the back edges of the screen to finish it off.

Your now done, Nice Job!!
