Open a Sweatshirt

yt.jpg

I had this nice sweatshirt, but it was kid's size. Normally, if the size is for 12-14 years old, it is good for me. This was littler ;D So, given that I often wear sweatshirts without closing it, I decided to open it to use it.

Of course this can be done with sweatshirts of a right size!!

This was my mom's idea.

Iron the Crease

Iron the sweatshirt flat, than fold it in two and iron the crease really well. It has to be visible when you spread the sweatshirt out.

Mark the Crease

Mark the crease with a chalk.

Cut

Cut on the line. Pay attention to cut precisely and as straight as possible.

Iron the Hem

Fold the hem (1 or 2 cm) and iron it. You can baste it with thread or pin. I didn't baste it, I sewed it directly with the sewing machine.

Sew

Sew the hem. If the sweatshirt has a big front pocket like this one, it will be automatically transformed it two lateral pockets in this step.
