Operating the ShopBot Router
Preparation
- Startup the controller and ShopBot.
- Secure your material to the router table.
- Ask Shop Staff for help if needed.
- Install the first tool.
- Set XY0.
- Load the program.
- Make an air pass.
- Set Z zero.
Using the Router
- Confirm the correct tool is in the spindle.
- Run the program.
- Load the next tool.
- Use the Safety Interlock Key.
- Make an air pass.
- Set Z zero for that tool.
- Put away the previous tool.
- Restart the program.
- Repeat for each tool.
Cleanup
- Remove the key from the control box.
- Put it away in the drawer.
- Remove and put away any tools.
- Jog the spindle half way down the bed.
- This keeps people from moving the gantry when the machine is off.
- Remove and put away all hold downs and other workholding.
- Vacuum the table.
- Throw away any scrap wood.
- Cut down large pieces of scrap.
- Large square pieces can be placed in the materials rack.
- Clean the floor with a HEPA filter vacuum.
- Turn off the dust collection.
