Orange Marmalade Butter Scones
I present to you soft, fluffy, yummy scones prepared using homemade Orange Marmalade Butter and the by-product of making butter at home, buttermilk. Hope you like it :)
Ingredients and Steps Required to Prepare Orange Marmalade Butter
Ingredients Required:
- Softened Butter - 4 tbsp
- Orange Marmalade - 2 to 3 tbsp
Steps Required:
- Mix together all the above ingredients well
- Place the butter on a plastic wrap and roll to get a tight tube
- Place in fridge till required

Ingredients for Scones:
- Unbleached All purpose flour - 2 cups
- Baking Powder - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Granulated Sugar - 5 tbsp
- Orange Marmalade Butter - 5 tbsp
- Heavy Cream - 1/4 cup
- Buttermilk - 1/2 cup
Ingredients for Glaze:
- Heavy Cream - 1 tbsp
- Orange/Hazelnut Liqueur(Optional) - 1 tsp
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425F
- Place the flour,baking powder,salt and sugar in a bowl. Mix using fork
- Scatter the butter over the flour mixture and mix using a fork till crumbled flour is achieved
- Add the cream and buttermilk and stir with fork to form a shaggy dough
- Kneed just until the dough comes together. Do not over kneed or the scones will be tough
- Pat the dough into 8 inch circle and cut into 8 wedges
- Place the wedges on a floured baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart
- Whisk together remaining cream, sugar and liqueur, brush on the tops of the scones
- Bake until the tops are golden brown and firm, about 12-15 minutes
- Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving
- Serve warm :)
