Oreo Popcorn

Need a tasty treat for that next party or for your kids’ afternoon snack? We have a simple treat that takes less than 15 minutes to prepare. This is the perfect snack for you and is a crowd favorite. Oreo Popcorn will be your new “go-to” party treat!

Materials

3 Bowls: (1 Microwavable, of the remaining two, one needs to be slightly bigger than the other)
Potato Smasher (the black item)
Stirring Spoon
Aluminum Foil/Wax Paper
Container/Ziploc Bags
15 Oreos
1 Bag of Popcorn
4 Bars of Almond Bark

Sanitize Work Area

Sanitize your hands, work area, and put back your hair

Lay Out Foil

Lay out 2 sheets of Foil/Wax Paper (each about 2 feet in length) on an open counter top

Pop the Popcorn

Pop the popcorn - it can be buttered or kettle. Be sure to follow the popcorn’s instructions (lay flat, this side up)

Crumble the Oreos

Crumble the Oreos - Place 15 Oreos in a bowl. Use the potato smasher to crumble the Oreos. They can be crumbled according to your liking

Remove Unpopped Kernels

Separate the Kernels from the Popcorn-
remove the popcorn from the bowl and place into the bowl with the Oreos’ using your hands to remove the un-popped kernels.

Combine Oreos and Popcorn

Mix the Popcorn and Oreos –
move the popcorn and Oreos from one bowl to the other, so that the mixture is evenly mixed

Melt Almond Bark

Melt the Almond Bark –
Place 4 bars of almond bark  in the microwavable bowl. Microwave it for 30 seconds and then continue to microwave it in 15 second intervals. Stir between intervals until it is completely melted.

Mix Almond Bark and Popcorn Mixture

Add the melted Almond Bark to the Oreo and popcorn mixture

Mix the Ingredients

Place one bowl on top of the other then carefully shake it until somewhat mixed. Be aware that it is easy for the popcorn to fall out of the bowls

Stir Mixture

After shaking, stir the mixture until it is evenly coated with the Almond Bark

Spread Mixture

Spread the Oreo/Popcorn/Almond Bark mixture onto the foil

Let Mixture Sit

Let the Almond Bark harden for 5-10 minutes

Store and Serve

Once hardened, break up the popcorn mixture. Place it in a container to store/serve
