Lines guide:

Black lines indicate a fold line

Red arrows indicate a fold, bringing a corner to a corner

Green arrows indicate either unfolding and bringing a corner to a new place

Supplies

You will need:

1 square piece of paper

That's it!

Step 1

Fold your square piece of paper down the middle, corner to corner.

Step 2

Fold along this line, bringing corner to corner.

Step 3

With the paper as shown above, bring the raised corner down to the existing corner, keeping the previous fold in place. Crease. It should now look like the picture in step 4.

Step 4

Flip the paper over.

Step 5

IMG_6686.JPG

Fold along the black line, so that the right corner is straight up in the air

Step 6

IMG_6687.JPG

As you did on the other side, bring the corner in the air down to the bottom corner.

Step 7

IMG_6688.JPG

Fold along the black line, bringing the bottom-right edge to the middle crease. Crease the new fold.

Step 8

IMG_6689.JPG

Do the same thing you did in step 7 with the bottom-left edge. Now, fold the new top part down along the black line. Crease all three folds.

Step 9

Now, unfold those three creases and take the topmost layer on the bottom corner and bring it all the way up, as shown in the second photo, pushing in on the left and right corners. This is called a "petal fold".

Step 10

Flip over the paper, and do the same petal fold on the other side

Step 11

Now that we have the base of the crane, fold along these two black lines.

Then, turn the paper over and do the same to the other side.

Step 12

IMG_6697.JPG

Make two folds on either side along the black lines These folds will be parallel to two previous folds. This makes the next step easier.

Step 13

Now, we'll fold the tail and head into place.

Unfold slightly the sides of the paper and fold upwards, creasing along the folds we made in the previous step.

Step 14

Slightly unfold either side of the crane to make the head, and fold the head down.

Step 15

Create the wings by folding along the black line.

Congratulations!
