To be a true Ninja you have to be able to make your own weapons. That is why I am sharing this with you, because I feel that everyone should be able to make their own Transforming Ninja Stars.

Making the Squares

Get your Origami paper ready. You will need two (2) sheets. Mine is a 7x7 square. I got it from here.

Fold your paper in half both ways, horizontal and vertical, so your paper will have four quadrants.

Cut on them lines so you get four individual squares.

Fold Diagonally

Take the top left corner and fold it down to the bottom right corner. Unfold. Then take the top right corner and fold it down to the bottom left corner. Unfold.

Fold Back

Take your square, color side up, and take the bottom and fold to the top so the white side will be showing.

Finish the Section

Take your paper color side down and press in the middle. The sides should pop up. Then fold the two corners as shown on the pictures. Make sure that you do not go over the center line. Fold in half horizontally. The triangle side should do a mountain fold where the square half should perform a valley fold. It should end up looking like the last photo in this step.

Repeat

Repeat the first four steps until you have eight (8) identical sections.

You only need to do the first step twice. Once for each piece of 7x7 paper.

Assemble

This a fairly easy step but also a critical step. What you do is slide to pieces of paper together, the closed end is inserted into the open end. Then you fold the tabs of the outside paper into the inside paper. Continue this step until you make the full octagon!
