Outdoor Access Point - Angle & Bird Protector - Scary and Practical

I recently installed an outdoor wireless access point on top of my shed. The antennas should be at 45 degrees to get the best coverage but the birds don't agree.

This little gadget just clips on to the antennas and keeps them at 45 degrees whilst keeping the birds off. I have no idea if it fits other models or makes. Mine is a TP-Link EAP110 outdoor. (I have no affiliation with TP-Link.)

Given the season I've spray painted the pole, access point and gadget to a more suitable color. Now it's both practical and scary.

Supplies

  1. 3D Printer
  2. PETG filament
  3. TP-Link EAP110 outdoor

I printed in PETG as it is used outdoors.

It clips in pretty tightly but I used hot glue first and then pressed it in. You could use silicone and there are also holes for cable ties.

Spray Paint Black and Mount to Pole

I spray pained the pole, access point, cables and clip after attaching it all together.

45 Degrees Is KEY

I found that nearly every pic online has the two antennas pointing vertically.

To get the best coverage the antennas should be set at 45 degrees as shown in tp-links' own coverage map.
