Painting a Geometric Portrait

This process takes just under 20 minutes! Its quick, easy, and fun! Enjoy!
Get Supplies

- Paper
- Masking tape
- 3 different colors of paint
- 3 paint brushes
- Cup/bowl of water (to clean brushes)
- Paint palette
Choose Your Colors of Paint

Select 3 different colors of paint to use
Put Paint on Palette

Squeeze your 3 colors of paint onto your palette (add more paint if needed)
Keep Workplace Clean

Place the piece of paper over something to prevent getting paint on your table (preferably a piece of cardboard, poster board, or another piece of paper that is larger)
Follow Design

Follow the design in the picture exactly
Layout Tape

Layout tape on the paper that matches the design and number each piece as you lay it down
No Air Bubbles

Smooth out the tape to make sure there are no air bubbles
Color 1

Paint blank area(s) of the paper with color 1
Color 2


Use a clean brush and start painting blank spaces with color 2
Color 3


Use a clean brush to paint the remainding blank spaces with color 3
Let Paint Dry

Let the paint dry before taking the tape off
Wash Brushes

Wash the paint brushes in the cup/bowl of water
Peel Tape

When the paint is dry carefully peel off the tape in reverse order as to which it was laid down
Finished
