Pallet Corner Bench

Some colleagues of mine have thrown away 8 palletes. Combined with an old wooden door, i thought to create a bench out of it. First idea was to create only a standalone seat, but the end of the Progress was a comfortable corner bench with seat back.

First of all take old wooden pallets and source out the wooden logs.

For the Frame of the bench i took an old wooden door of an shed.

After that, cut the logs and Frame to the right size.

The dimensions for one bench are about 1400 x 500 x 480 cm.

The corner exists of two benches from this size.

It is also possible to use the benches as two standalone benches.

After finished cut, sand the planks.

First take a rough sandpaper and get always finer to obtain the living patina of the Wood.

After finished sandig, create Frames of the planned size and assemble the planks. To stabilize the frames, i stabilized the corners with 45 deg. planks.

The seat back was attached with an angle of five degree.

After building up two of the benches they was combined as an corner bench.

As mentioned before it is also possible to use the two benches seperately.

Also if it is sanded, it is more comfortable to add pillows. :-)
