Pant-Leg Purse

This is something I made for my cousins out of some old jeans i wanted to cut to make shorts. When you're done, you get 2 mini purses, and cut-off shorts!

Matereals

1 pair of jeans you can cut
sissors
fabric glue
needle and thread

(optional)
buttons
fabric
ribbon
decorative thingies

Cutting the Jeans

Cut the jeans with the sissors just above where your knee would be. Those are your new shorts!!!

Making the Base of the Purse

put away the new shorts, but leave out the extra pant legs. Usually, you just look over them, and throw them away. But they have so much potential!!! To make the purse, fold the bottom of the pant leg about 1 inch from the top of the pant leg. look at the picture, so you understand.

Glue the Flap Down

Glue down the second flap, so there are 2 compartments. if you like, you can sew it.

( an Optional, Time Consuming Step)

if you dont want small things like coins coming inbetween the flaps, you can sew the bottom of the smaller flaps. they will be 2 seperate flaps when you are done.

Adding a Strap

i reccomend sewing the strap on rather than gluing it down, because after a few days with the glue, the strap fell off.
Cut the ribbon as long as you like, then sew one end to the front corner, and the other end to the opposite back corner.

Adding Decorative Thingies

you can sew or glue on your buttons, ribbon, fabric, and decorative thingies to fit your style! I made mine with a E for my little sister.

You're Done!

Now you can wear your new bag in style! each pair of jeans makes 2 purses, so you have to repeat steps 3-7 with the other pant leg. in the end, these make great gifts, and you get a pair of shorts! a win- win!
Hope you like it!
