Paper Flowers

A tutorial on how to make simple paper flowers.

Materials

CAM00608.jpg
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Sissor
  • Eraser
  • Glue
  • Cardboard/thick paper

Getting Started

Start by cutting a circle in your cardboard. - The size should be approximately the size you want your flower to be (the size is not that important, since you can always glue another paper circle on if it is to small).

Draw some squares on your paper that are a little longer on one side (see image), and cut them out (- These are to be the inner petals, and are therefore the smallest ones).

Now cut one end of the squares round. - If you prefer you can draw them first or make a template on a piece of paper.

Use your pencil to round the petals as shown on the image.

Now get your clue and the circle you cut out in the beginning and start gluing on the petals to the circle.

When you have used all of the petals you've made, make some more, this time a little bigger. Repeat steps 2 to 7 until you feel like our flower is done.

Remember: If you run out of space on the bottom circle, you can just cut out a bigger circle and clue that to the bottom of the old one - No one will be able to see on the finished flower.

The Finished Flower

Wait for the glue to dry, and enjoy your finished flower.

Tip

If you want your flower to be a little more durable, spray it with hairspray. - The more layers of hairspray the stiffer the paper gets. This way you can use if for e.g. a brooch.
