Paper Ninja Star

How many of you want to be a ninja? I know I do. But without the proper equiptment, it can be kind of difficult. That's why I have come up with the ultimate throwing star made specifically to immitate the real thing, and to make sure you don't kill anyone...

"It's What You Need..."

For this project, you will need:

graph paper (preferrably in centimeters)
scissors
a stapler
a cool mask
two rulers

First Cut

Cut out a piece of paper that is 6 by 6 centimeters.

Fold.

Fold in each corner to the center. You can do this on whichever side you prefer. It is probably easier later on to fold it on the white side so the lines are still showing.

Cut Again.

So now you should have a square, right? Cut the triangles on all four sides so when you open it back up, it should look like the picture above.

Fold Again.

So now some of you may be saying, "Wait, there's more? It looks like a ninja star. Isn't this it?" Yeah, try throwing it.

Fold the tips back out so they line up with the graph paper. Okay that was hard to explain, just look at the picture.

Staple.

"Wait, it still isn't done? It looks even cooler now." Throw it again.

Next, staple all the corners horizontally and all the pointy sides vertically. If that didn't make any sense, just bare with me and look at the picture. The staples are added for weight to create momentum.

Fold Again.

Fold the points back to the middle again. It might help to tape the points to the middle.

Ready!

Put on your mask, stick the rulers down the back of your shirt, and use stealthy maneuvers to find an unsuspecting victim.

A Few Tips...

Hold your star by the very tip. Your fingers should be holding on to the staple.

Throw like throwing a frisbee but a little quicker.

Try to get some spin on the star when you throw it. This will get it to fly farther and faster.

Practice. After a few trys, you should get the hang of it.

Be safe. Try not to hurt anyone...

Feel free to add any modifications to this. Make sure to tell me how it goes.
