Paper Squashed Man Bookmark
My brother set me the task of creating a bookmark for school. I was told that it had to look cool, could be made in a day and would be able to cope with being chucked about in his school bag. To make the bookmark I used card (colour of you choice), glue, scissors and a pencil.
Main Template
On a peice of card draw your template. Then somewhere on the chest draw a slightly slanted line.
Top Templates
The slanted line you have drawn shows where the bookmark will stick out of the book. Copy the part above the line onto normal printer paper. It would be a good idea to make four copies of this part, all will be explained in the next step.
Top Half
Cut out 18 sqaures of card. Make sure that the top templates will be able to fit on these squares. Split your card squares into four seperate piles. I had two sets of four peices of card and two sets of five peices of card. There should be a top template for each pile. I said to make four copies of the top template as four smaller piles of card will be easier to cut out than one big pile of card. Glue each pile of card together seperately so you still have four easy to cut templates, as shown in the picture
Cut the Peices Out
Now cut out the different peices. You should have four top half peices and one whole body.
Glue It All Together
Now you can glue all the peices together so the top half sticks out. You can decorate your bookmark any way you like. Different colours of card look nice too!
Finished
Allow the glue to dry and then your finished! It's the final touch to your favourite book!
