Paperclip Pendant

Hello. I've been sculpting with paper clips for some time now (I call it Clip-Art) and it has been well receive within my social circle and in their extended social circle and in their extended social circle, and so on. Anyway, I saw the contest for for jewelry making so I thought I would submit this instructable in Paperclip jewelry.

1. Large paperclips
2. Modge Podge (glossy) or glaze (spray glaze may make things easier)
3. Long nose pliers
4. Wire cutter (optional)

Take a Paperclip and straighten it

Employ your imagination and think of a design. Keep in mind the length of the paperclip. I like to keep my designs so that I do not need more than one paperclip for each piece. It may be helpful to draw out your design so you may have a guide for your creation.

For the purpose of this instructable I will go over forming a heart pendant.

Start forming your design using your long nose pliers. The following pictures should be self explanatory. Let me give you a tip before starting. Form your paperclip bit by bit so as not to fatigue and break your paperclip.

Now you want to put a protective coating over your piece. You can use Modge Podge or glaze.

I find these pendants look best on a thin leather cord or small gauge chain.

So, this heart pendant is only one of so many possibilities (look at the cover photo for other ideas) Your imagination is your only obstacle. Well that and the length of the paperclip, but then again you can always use more than one depending on your design. I myself enjoy the challenge of only using one.
