Paracord-Wrapped Drumsticks

This is an instructable on how to wrap your drumsticks in paracord.

I have seen many other people in my school drumline wrap their drumsticks with shoelaces in order to give them more grip.  I wanted something a little more interesting than that so I decided to use paracord.  After searching the internet I couldn't find any instructions anywhere on how to do it with paracord.  I then spent the next few hours trying to figure out how to do it.  Here's how I did it so other people that are in the same dilemma have a resource to use.

Stuff You'll Need

You Will Need:

Preparing the Paracord

Measure out the paracord using the tape measure.  I used about 7 feet of paracord when I wrapped my drumsticks.  Cut it off.  Fray one of the ends just a bit and completely remove the innards of the paracord.  Then snip off the frayed side and melt both ends of the paracord with the lighter.

Repeat

Keep repeating those two steps until you get down to the end.  Once you do, snip off the extra paracord and melt it into the wrapped paracord so that it doesn't unwrap itself.  To do this just press the end with the flat side of the scissors into the wrapped paracord while you are melting it.

And You're Done!

You're all done...well, kinda.  Repeat all these steps again for your other drumstick, 'cause it would look kinda stupid with only one drumstick wrapped and the other one not.  Once you're done with that though, then you're finally done.  Now admire your badass drumsticks for a little bit and go jam!
