Just in time for the patriotic celebrations, make this super easy and adorable bow tie.

Materials

Patriotic Material
Bow tie Fasteners
Coordinating Ribbon
Hot Glue Gun
Hot Glue Sticks

All materials can be found at local fabric stores. Fabric with a small pattern will look cleaner than those with larger prints!

Step 1: Measuring It All Out

Cut the fabric into a 4in x 18in piece. Then cut that piece into a 4x10in and a 4x8in piece.

You will also need to cut an 10in piece of  the coordinating ribbon.

Step 2: Time to Fold and Glue

For each piece, fold the long ends up (similar to folding in thirds) and glue down with hot glue.

Step 3: Fold and Glue, Some More

Fold the ends of each piece in. Glue the ends down where they meet. This will create two rectangles. Put a small drop of hot glue on the center of the larger piece and stick the smaller rectangle on top.

Step 4: the Bow

Squeeze/pinch the rectangles together to form a “bow like” shape. Then wrap the ribbon around the center of the bow, leaving tails to tie off in the back.

Step 5: Make It Wearable

Before you pull the knot the tails, slip the pin under the ribbon. Then pull and knot. Secure the pin with hot glue and trim any ribbon ends.

Step 6: Show Off Your New Bow Tie!
