Mix and Heat Sugars

Mix together a cup of sugar and a cup of corn syrup in a microwave safe bowl. Place the mixture in a microwave and heat until the mixture comes to a boil. We suggest heating for 4 minutes, stirring in intervals of 30 seconds with the long stirring spoon.

*Our microwave wattage is 1,000 watts. The time will vary as to how long it will take to reach a boiling state.*

*Please be cautious that the bowl and mixture will be hot; use a hot pad to protect from burns.*

While the mixture is still hot, stir in 5 cups of Cheerios. Make sure all the Cheerios are fully coated with the peanut butter mixture.

Prepare for Cooling

Prepare the wax paper by tearing a sheet out and placing it on a counter top surface. Spray non-stick cooking spray on your hands, this makes it easier to work with the mixture.

Pour the Mixture Onto Wax Paper

Pour all of the mixture out onto the wax paper, using your hands, smooth out the mixture until it is even and flat. Let cool for approximately 15 minutes or until the mixture is completely cooled down and stuck together.

Once cooled down, you can either break it up into small pieces (pictured above, top), cut the Cheerio mixture (pictures above, bottom, left), or you can leave it one big slab (pictured above, bottom, right) and let your guest determine how much they get!

Finally, once the mixture has cooled, you can place the clusters in an air-tight container to make sure they do not dry out. Use wax paper in between each layer of clusters so that they do not stick together.
