Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Balls
This is a recipe for peanut butter chocolate protein balls, which is a delicious and healthy on-the-go snack. It’s easy to make, but requires significant cooling time. We make these snacks to stave off hunger during our busy daily schedules, and we never have to feel guilty since they’re good for us, too!
Prep time: 15 - 20 min
cool time: about 1 hour - 4 hours
Skill Level: Beginner
Serving size: about 10 to 14 (depends on how big/ small you make them)
These are the ingredients and supplies you'll need:
- 2 mixing bowls
- 2 mixing spoons
- 1 small spoon
- ½ cup of Creamy or crunchy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons of Flax seeds
- ⅓ cup of honey
- 1 tablespoon of chocolate flavored protein powder (you can likely use any flavor you already have on hand)
- ⅓ cup of dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- Wax paper paper towels or gloves (in case things get a little messy)
- If you want a little extra flavoring, you can also use 1 tablespoon of PB2 powdered peanut butter
In one bowl, mix together 1 cup rolled oats and 1 tablespoon of protein powder.
In the same bowl the oats are in, mix in 1/3 cup of dark chocolate chips, and 2 spoonfuls flax seeds. (This is where you will add in the PB2 or any other dry ingredients you want)
In the empty bowl mix in ½ cup creamy peanut butter and ⅓ cup of honey. Mix thoroughly until creamy.
Mix the dry mixture with the Honey and Peanut butter mix.
Lay out the plastic wrap, or wax paper. This is what you will lay the balls you're forming on.
With the small spoon, get a spoonful of the mixture and form balls with your hands. You can form these to your desired size, but it will form easier if rolled in a one inch diameter. Place these balls on the plastic wrap when you’re done. For easy cleanup, gloves or towels are helpful.
Put the balls in the fridge overnight (or if you are in a hurry for these amazing treats, you can put them in the freezer until firm, which usually takes about 1-2 hours)
In the morning, take the balls out of the fridge. Enjoy!
