Pedestrian Bridge

Hello, my name is Emily Ocampo, I'm a sophomore in high school and I want to present the bridge that I have created. I would intend to build the bridge across I-75 to allow pedestrians to safely proceed across the interstate.

Discover Your Predicament

Before you move forward with this project, you will need to discover a problem you want to set right. Identify where a bridge would be perfect and where it would help out pedestrians the most. How would it affect them and would it be a positive or negative effect? I realized that there aren't any pedestrian-only bridges across I-75, so I have decided to allow people to travel across without worrying about vehicles.

Research About Your Predicament

After you found your problem, you will need to investigate more about the problem you have chosen to solve. I have researched that there aren't any pedestrian bridges across I-75. There aren't any accessible walkways for pedestrians needing to safely move across the interstate and it increases approachability to hiking trials.

Brainstorm Ideas

This is the step where you use your imagination and figure out your unique style for your bridge. If it helps, pull out a sheet of paper and sketch out your first idea of what your bridge might look like. I quickly sketched two ideas and chose the most beneficial one.

Design a Solution

Finally, create your design on the website of your choice and include or remove ideas that you like or dislike. I implemented my sketch onto a 3D model website and I designed a bridge made specifically for pedestrians.

Constraint List

My bridge would be made of concrete and steel, to make sure it is stable and as safe as possible. It would have a ramp for handicapped access for everybody to enjoy. The design would be cost-efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
