Percussion Ring Shaker

Have you always wanted to add Percussion to your favorite Ukulele song,or just want to be part of a jamming session with friends.

If yes, 3D print the STL files attached as part of the ible and use some metallic beads or some broken parts from old broken Artificial/imitation jewelry.Or use pepper seeds, if pepper does not make you sneeze !

My motivation for this was to use it with my Ukulele which I have been learning for about a couple of weeks now, and I also printed couple for a friend who loves to play tap drums.

Download the 3D printing software that you printer supports, in my case i am using the Printrbot Simple Metal which use Repetier-Host as a software to

• Slice the STL files attached,which basically means cutting the part into various layers
• And send commands to the 3D printer while printing

In my case I am using the following filaments

HATCHBOX 1.75mm Green and Orange PLA

Download the RingLid.stl file attached and slicing the STL should take about 12-14 seconds and printing the STL file should take about 45-50 mins, which depends on your printer settings.

For the base in my case I am using

HATCHBOX 1.75mm Transparent White PLA

Download the ShakerBase.stl file attached and slicing the STL should take about 38-40 seconds and printing the file should take about 35-40 mins, which depends on your printer settings.

Add the metallic beads to the base or use some chain links from some old broken artificial/imitation jewelry.

Now before you super glue the base and lid together , run a quick test by shaking the contents by attaching the lid as shown in the video above.

Also add and remove beads till you are satisfied with the sound.

Super Glue the Lid and the Base as shown in the picture above.

Use sand paper if required to smooth out the rough edges.

Congratulation your done !! Enjoy your new DIY Percussion Ring Shaker and add percussion to your strumming ...
