Gather all of the materials listed under materials in order to start making your pasta salad! Make sure to have a ready to use stove and sink/faucet, we will be cooking the pasta on the stove and draining it and rinsing it in the sink, using the facet.

Grab your 3-quart pot and fill it 2/3 full with water. Use your measuring cup or any cup to fill it up. There is no specific measurement of water to pour into the pot, just make sure not to fill the pot to the very top.

Heat Water to Boiling.

Place your pot on the stove and turn the stove on. Turn the knob to high to insure the water will boil quickly. Remember to turn your vent on as well, especially if you have a hood in your kitchen to filter and vent the gas/air out.

Add Pasta to Water.

Pour pasta from the box into the boiling water. Make sure to get the dry vegetables in the water as well and they will float to the top. The dry vegetables are not separate, they are in the plastic bag with the uncooked pasta.

Cook Pasta.

Boil pasta for 12 minutes in order for it to cook. Stir occasionally, every other minute. Watch the timer and once it goes of, turn off the heat.

Add Seasoning Packet to Separate Bowl.

Grab a medium bowl and pour the seasoning packet from the box into the bowl, by itself. Make sure the bowl is big enough to eventually pour all the pasta in to and stir it with the seasoning

Also using measuring spoons, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil or vegetable oil to the bowl with the seasoning and water. All together, these ingredients will make a clear, green mixture.

Stir Seasoning, Water, and Oil Together.

Stir the seasoning, water, and oil together in the separate bowl to create one, green mixture with a slimy consistency.

Drain Your Pasta.

IMG_3926.jpg

After the pasta is fully cooked, pour the pasta into the colander over the sink to drain. The pot I used to cook my pasta was very hot, so I recommend wearing oven mitts to pick up the pot and drain.

Rinse Pasta With Cold Water.

After you drain your pasta, rinse it in the sink with cold water.

Pour Pasta in With Seasoning Mixture.

Pour the pasta into the other bowl with the seasoning mixture.

Stir Pasta and Mixture Together.

IMG_3931.jpg

After you pour the pasta in the bowl with the seasoning mixture, stir the pasta and mixture together until there is no seasoning at the bottom and the pasta is covered in it. It may be hard to tell if the pasta is covered in the seasoning, but if you make sure there is no seasoning at the bottom of the bowl, you should be all good.

Refrigerate or Serve Immediately.

Once you have stirred together the pasta and the seasoning mixture, serve the pasta immediately or refrigerate. If you refrigerate your pasta to save for later, I recommend you cover the bowl in plastic wrap to keep it fresh.
