Foam Is Your Friend!

The thing you have to know about this costume/cosplay I've made is that it's all entirely made out of upholstery foam and felt fabric! Along with a few paint jobs, LEDs, and craft foam here and there. My advice on starting out on something big like this is to look up fursuiting tutorials, especially for the head! Trust me, it helps. This is the first cosplay I have ever made myself.

Fabrication!

Always be sure that you can comfortably slip on/equip parts of your cosplays. I made the entire body slip-on capable, which is a pain to maintain but it's better than burning myself just to hot glue the parts onto a suit! Anyways, this was my first time fabricating anything, and as much as a pain it was to cover the entire body with gold felt, the paint job (done with nothing but black spray paint) helped cover most of the visible seams. As for the mask, same thing as the body. It just slides right over my head, and the way I made the mouth move is by just tilting my head back and forth, much like a nodding motion.

Sacrifice = Profit

Now I have to apologize for the lack of detailed steps, for this is my first huge cosplay ever created and I wasn't intending on using it for any contests until recently. The arm and leg parts are easy to create. Just like the body, I just wrapped foam around each of my limbs and marked where they comfortably meet. Always be sure that you can move your arms and legs with ease!

For information on details: I used silver/metallic duct tape on craft foam to make the endoskeleton look. As for the eyes, I bought a cheap pair on Amazon for less than $10.
