Photopea Tutorial
In this tutorial, you will learn how to remake posters. There are also a few tricks and tips throughout the tutorial that you can apply to your own projects. I used Toy Story 4 poster as an example.
Open New Project and Add Your Images
First, you would want to set up the project and put in the needed images.
- Open a new project and select your desired template. (I am using a blank letter template because I want my poster to be vertical.)
- Then click on import to add your saved images.
Use the Pen Tool to Trace the Objects
Select the Pen tool and start tracing the part of the image you want to use. Make sure you zoom in and take care of the small details. When you're done, be sure to close the path. If you want to be precise, you can use the magic wand tool to remove unwanted parts.
Arrange and Merge the Images
After you have finished contouring the images, it's time to arrange them to the place you wanted. You can merge them when you have decided on the positions. Left-click on the layer and select merge down. This will make sure that you don't accidentally move any parts.
Import and Position the Background
Import your background and make sure the background is the last layer so that all the pictures are displayed on top of the background.
I also lowered the opacity of the background to 90% to make the characters stand out.
Apply Hue/saturation and Curve Effect
You can find the effects under the layer tab, then go to new adjustment and select the effects. Play around with the effects to reach the desired result.
I utilized the effects and make the background darker, in order to have the characters pop and have them be more noticeable.
Add in the Logo
In this step, I use the magnetic lasso tool to lasso out the logo. Then, I apply a vector mask to the logo.
Finally, I centered the logo so that it was symmetrical on both sides.
Add in the Text
The last step will be to choose your font, color, and text size.
In this case, I chose one that is as close as the original. You can drag the bar below the text to move it around.
