Photopea Tutorial
Tutorial on photo editing in Photopea.
Photos used:
- Picture of a pond
- Drawing of a dolphin jumping out of the water
Insert and Adjust Pictures
First the picture of the pond should be set as the background and the picture of the dolphin should be copied and pasted on a separate layer.
To create a second layer, you must click on layer at the top of the page and select "new".
Get the Dolphin by Itself
Next, select the silhouette of the dolphin and its reflection with the lasso select or polygonal lasso select tool.
After the dolphin has been selected, use the feather option to smooth out sharp lines.
Next, copy and past the dolphin on a new layer.
Blur the Background
Next, the background should be blurred out a bit to draw the viewers attention towards the foreground of the picture.
To add filters, locate filters at the top of the page, and for blur, select "lens blur" in the dropdown menu and adjust until it looks right.
Add Dolphin on Top of the Background
Now add the dolphin on top of the now blurred background while keeping them on separate layers.
Smooth Out the Dolphin
Now that the dolphin is on top of the background, it is time to smooth the edges.
Use the blur tool and the sharpen tool on the dolphin and its reflection to make it look like it belongs in the picture.
Make the reflection look like it's on the water and the dolphin itself is more of a solid figure above the water.
Lens Flare
Lastly, locate where the light is coming from in the background and add a lens flare to show dimension.
This filter can be found in the dropdown menu for "render"
