Why make a pie? Well the first reason is obvious so I will tell you the second one. My brother and I have had a debate for a while of Raspberry Pi vs. Raspberry Pie. So what better way to settle it than a run off on Instructables! Here's my pie, its up to him to enter one as good!

Supplies

  • 1- 9” pie crust
  • Assortment of measuring cups & spoons
  • Creamy Satin Filling
  • Sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • Egg
  • Vanilla
  • Pint raspberry pie filling
  • Cool whip
  • Raspberry Danish dessert mix
  • Cake decorating bag with star tip
  • Straw

Bake 9” pie crust according to package directions. Allow to cool.

Combine:

½ cup sugar

3 T cornstarch

½ tsp salt

Stir together in a 4-qt. saucepan. Gradually add:

2 c. milk

Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is very thick and bubbly. Measure 1 cup of mixture into a separate bowl and to this small portion add:

1 beaten egg

Beat together very well and return to remaining hot mixture. Cook until bubbling again.

Allow to cool.

NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ADD THE EGG TO ONLY A SMALL PORTION OF HOT MIXTURE. THEN ADD TO REMAINING HOT MIXTURE.

Using a teaspoon, spoon small portions of raspberry pie filling onto the pie.

Spread the pie filling over entire pie, being careful not to mix the pie filling into the satin filling.

Cool Whip

Using a straw, form the shape of the mathematical pi into the cool whip.

Prepare Danish dessert mix according to package instructions. Pour Danish dessert into cake decorating bag with a star tip. Fill in the pi shaped “trench” formed by the star.

Add any additional adornment.
