Ping Pong/Billiards Shelf

We have a ping pong table that sits on top of a pool table in the basement. My dad is always complaining of the pile of paddles, talc, chalk, and racks laying in the corner of the room. I was unable to find a shelf that accommodated all of these accessories so I decided to surprise him by building one myself.

Planning

The shelf is comprised of 3 main pieces that were cut using a jigsaw. The indents for the pool chalk and ping pong balls were cut using a dremel. The handle of the paddles get slightly wider at the end which allowed me to hang them upside down. I had to be very exact with the width of the slots for the paddles so I used a file and sand paper to ensure I didn't make them too wide. The 3 pieces were sanded, screwed together, stained, and varnished. Keyhole hangers were screwed to the back for mounting.
