Plastic Trash Lamp

Before things go permanently into the bin at my house, they go to my type of purgatory where things get inspected for possible future use. I saved a clear plastic box from a mini baking set, along with a bunch of caps from my water bottles, in order to make this lamp. When it's daytime and not in use, I'll stuff it with a vibrant scarf and use it as "contemporary art." Why not?!

Things you will need:

• 1 clear plastic container
• several plastic bottle caps
• hot glue gun with glue
• mini led string lights
• tweezers (optional)
• colourful scarf (optional)

Without gluing, begin setting the caps on one side of the plastic container to see how many fit. Figure out how far apart they need to be to fit uniformly.

Add some small dabs of hot glue to the lip of the caps, then press them onto the container. Continue on sides and top portion.

Take a pair of tweezers and remove any stringy glue hairs, if you like. You might be into that hairy hipster look. Place the LED lights inside and turn that thing on!

When it's not a functional light, you can stuff it with bright coloured scarves for a nice accent in your place.
