Playing Card Bowl

Using an incomplete deck of cards and some glue I made a bowl capable of holding several pounds. Here is how it is made.

Gathering Materials

Alright so here are the only things I used.

1. Playing Cards
2. Hot Glue Gun
3. Extra Glue Sticks
4. Cardboard to keep glue off the carpet

Making the Base

Lay down one card either face up or face down (mine is face up so you can see the differen't cards.

Put down four cards at the corners of the first card, glue using only a VERY small amount of glue, this allows the cards to move enough to shape the bowl.

Shaping the Bottom.

If you want, add on another card in the middle of the base so the entire inside of the bowl is red (or whatever color your cards are)

Using a small amount of glue add four more cards to the base (refer to the second picture for placement.

By pulling two of the cards that you just placed together, you can start to make a curve in the bottom of the bowl, when you find a shape you like, glue it down. Be sure to hold it for a few seconds for the glue to cool down.

Building Up the Sides.

Place four more cards at the edges of the bowl, glue them in place.

Then add two more cards to each of the four cards that were just put on. (see picture)

Finally Do the same as you did in the last step and finish the curve of your bowl still using a small amount of glue.

Finishing

For my bowl I used Elmer's glue to coat the inside, it dried clear and helped waterproof it at least a little bit.

I hope you liked my instructable, it was the product of extreme boredom.
