Portable Quilling Work Station

I move around a lot and like to be able to take my tools and projects neatly. Lately, quilling has really been a passion of mine. It's a cheap, fun, easy to learn art. But you do end up carrying a lot of little pointy tools. What to do with them? This is my solution to a on-the-go quilling work station.

What you need
a good box with a strong fastener (don't want to lose your tools!)
quilling tools
cardboard
wax paper
glue or whatever adhesives you use
pins
pill bottle
a couple of zip lock bags

Find a good box, with a secure fastener. This is a cigar box a friend decorated for me for Christmas which was perfect for my needs.

Now, you need a non-messy place to do your gluing and piecing. I solved this dilemma by making a small 4x4 inch quilling board out of cardboard and wax paper. Works very well, non stick, accepts pins well, and fits perfectly in the bottom of the box.

Next, add quilling tools and a pill bottle with toothpicks (for glue) and some pins. I store my needle tool in the pill bottle to save a bit of room.

I like to have a variety of glue and lots of it. I recommend storing this in a baggie to prevent "glue-tastrophes."

Add any miscellany. Paint brush, ruler, another baggie to hold extra or unneeded strips or shapes that might be left over. There it is! Anything you could possibly need to quill on the go! Please consider voting for me in the portable work stations contest!! Thanks!
