Potato-Onion Pakora
Pakora is a popular fried snack in asian countries . It is mainly served with tea or coffee . Pakoras are in variety of types i.e Onion Pakora , Palak Pakora , Vegetable Pakora . Its main ingredient is Gram flour which is high in protein, iron and fibre .This is a simple recipe of Pakora in which Onion and Potato are used you can even add any vegetable in to this batter to make perfect Pakoras .
Ingredients
1- 250g Gram flour / Basen
2- 1.5 teaspoon salt
3- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
4- 1/2 teaspoon tumaric
5- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
6- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
7- small pinch of caraway
8-1/4 cup Cilantro (Coriander leaves) finely chopped
9- 1 medium sized Potato finely chopped
10-1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
11-Vegetable oil for frying
12-Water
Mixing of Ingredients
In a mixing bowl add Gram flour, Salt, Red chilli powder, Coriander powder, Cumin seeds, tumeric and Caraway.
Making of Batter
Add water to the mixing bowl until a smooth batter is formed.
Adding All Ingredients to Batter
Then add finely chopped Onion, Potato and Cilantro to the mixing bowl and make the batter consistency like thick cream.
Deep Frying of Pakora
Heat oil on medium flame on frying pan . Slowly drop spoonful of batter in frying pan . You can make Pakoras from small spoon size to medium spoon size . Turn these Pakoras occasionally . Fry until they turn golden brown.
Final Look
Pakoras are crisp on outside and are medium soft from inside . Serve hot with ketchup or mint cilantro chutney.
