Professor McGonagall Costume

I made a professor McGonagall costume from scratch!

1. 7 Yards of Green Crushed Corduroy Velvet
2. 6 Yards Black Jacquard Rose Taffeta
3. 22 Inch Black Invisible Zipper
4. 2 Gryffindor Buttons
5. Gold Chain
6. Sewing Machine
7. Cutting Table
8. Cutting Scissors
9. 2 Colored Threads (Forrest Green and Black)
10. Homemade Pattern

I decided to make a cross between McGonagall in Sorcerers Stone and Goblet of Fire.

Cut out all the Fabric making sure the Fabric connects properly at the seams.

Sewing is like putting together a puzzle! Once everything is cut you pin and sew.

Once everything is sewn, I put the costume on my dress form(hereafter known as Rowena). On Rowena, I pin in the places it needs adjustment and prep the hem. I sew the adjustments and put them back on Rowena to ensure they would fit well. Finally, I decided to add the Gryffindor touch with the buttons on the front and the chain to hold it closed.

I finished off the costume by adding the witches hat, glasses and wand!
