Push Pop Pencil Case
KimspiredDIY created an amazing idea of how to upcycle a cardboard tube into a pencil case, and she used different kinds of candy to make them, including the iconic Push Pop!

Grab Your Materials
Here's what you will need to make this colorful pencil case:
- cardboard tube
- pink spray paint or acrylic paint
- hot glue
- printable of the Push Pop label (you can find the link to the printable on the Introduction slide)
- pink foam
- ruler
- scissors
- X-acto knife
- permanent marker
- white cardstock
- white glue or any other adhesive application (I'm using my Xyron Mega Runner for the candy label attachement step which you will see in a few moments)
- paint brush if you're using regular acrylic paint
Prepare Cardboard Tube
To start, measure out 8 inches from the bottom of the cardboard tube, and carefully cut it into 2 pieces. The large piece of the cardboard tube will be the body of the pencil case.
Cut Further
Next, cut that small piece of cardboard tube you just cut out to a small 2" piece. This will be the cap that will go on top of your pencil case.
Add a Bottom
From there, use a dab of hot glue to attach the bottom of the cardboard tube to a piece of white cardstock, and cut around it. I suggest that you sand the ends of the cardboard tube pieces first so that the hot glue will stick completely.
Add a Top
Do the same with the cap of the pencil case, this time on a piece of pink foam.
Add a Candy Lining
Now, grab another piece of pink foam, and wrap it around with a dab of hot glue to make the candy "lining" of the pencil, and stick it inside the tube, making sure it sticks out about 1" from the inside.
Add Label
Now, you're going to add the Push Pop Candy label to the tube. Cut out the label and use a dab of white glue to attach it around the tube. I used my Xyron Mega Runner with permanent adhesive to attach the label.
Paint the Cap
The final step is to paint the cap of the pencil case with either acrylic or spray paint, and let dry completely. I used Krylon Spray Paint in Mambo Pink to match the color scheme of the Strawberry Flavored Push Pop Candy label.
