Have fun making this simple ‘Pyramid Marble Run’

Supplies

  6. Ruler

Cutting the Cardboard

Cut 5 triangles from the cardboard

Cut 4 equilateral (all sides the same) triangles I cut mine 18cm

Cut the fifth triangle 1 cm larger (used later for the marble ramps)

Joining the Triangles

Take the four small triangles and place them together with all the corners at the top

As shown In the picture

Tape Them Together

Take some tape and tape the triangles together

Making the Pyramid

Fold the right side triangle down and then fold the left triangle down

The tape on the right triangle will join the two triangles together

Open it out to make the pyramid

Then take some tape and tape the top to secure the pyramid

Making the Base

Take a sheet of cardboard and put your pyramid on it

Then take a pen and trace around the pyramid

Once you have finished tracing all sides take a pair of scissors and cut it out, this will be the base of the pyramid

Turn the pyramid on its side and put the base in line with the bottom triangle

Then take some tape and tape them together

Then fold the base up and tape the rest of the sides

As shown above

Making the Ramps

Now take the biggest triangle and draw the marble ramps using a pen and ruler, make the ramps 1.5cm or a bit bigger depending on the size of your marbles

Once you’ve finished drawing the ramps take some scissors and cut them out

You should have at least seven ramps

If you want a shallow marble ramp you might need to make some more ramps

Attaching the Ramps

Take a ruler and draw an angled line on the pyramid

This is the mark of where the ramp will be

Now, using a hot glue gun stick the smallest ramp into place

Now take the second ramp and glue it onto the pyramid

Make sure the end of the second ramp is lower than the first ramp

This will let the marbles roll down

Carry on glueing your ramps onto the pyramid until you get to the bottom.

Congratulations you have now finished. You can enjoy rolling your marbles down the ramp.

you can personalise your marble run by painting or colouring it in.
