Pyssla Beads

Just recently I bought this container of small, colourful, plastic amazement from IKEA for $4.99. With only the small board I managed to use half the container and created over 100 little pieces of 'art'. There are also beads like this called Hama Beads and Perler Beads.

How They Work

As well as the Pyssla beads you need a pegboard to hold the beads together while you create the designs and when you iron them. Unfortunately this pegboard was ironed over so the pegs have gone blunt. Time to by a new one!

I'm using a space invaders character for this demonstration-I'm running out of blacks so it can only be something small.

Ironing

Now it's time to iron! Make sure you place a sheet of baking paper on top of your design so it doesn't melt onto the iron. That would be very bad. When the plastic looks like it is fused together, take it of the pegboard and iron the other side, but make sure there is baking paper between the iron and your design. When it has cooled it is yours to do what you want with! Have fun!
