Quantum Tunneling - Part 5
Quantum tunneling is something that is best to believe when it is seen with your own eyes. But in order to see this, we need a screen.
In this instructable, a step by step guide will show you how to make such a screen.
P.s. This is part of a bigger project where I, Larissa Krab, worked together with two others, Helen van Rooij and Mark Lemmens. When I refer to I, I mean Larissa Krab
Supplies
You will need the following materials:
- Thick black paper of around 13 x 11 cm
- Plywood (left over bits from earlier instructables)
- Wood glue
- Scissors
Creating a Design
This screen was something we decided to add at the end, to ensure proper visibility of the quantum tunneling. We used left over parts of plywood from earlier iterations which we ended up not using. Therefore, no Inkscape design was made for this screen.
You can view the sketch and prototype to recreate what we did.
Putting It All Together
With all plywood parts being cut and ready to go, we just need to cut the thick black paper to the size we want (11x13 cm).
And now it's time to use the woodglue to glue all parts together as shown in the picture!
Handy tip: If the screen isn't stable enough, try adding some extra pieces of plywood at the front and at the back for extra support. This is something I had to do as well as you can see in the pictures.
