Quidditch Accessories
Today, I'll show you how to create the Quidditch accessories. There is a lot of good tutorial out there for some accessories, but for others there is none. Here is the list of tutorials that already exist for some:
- Golden Snitch (I used the 3D printed version) : 3D Printed or Normal one
- Broomstick (the one I used) : Nimbus 2000
- Quaffle : I didn't make it, I bought one at Universal Studios in Orlando... Amazon
What is left is the Bludger and the Beater Bat, here is the material you will need :
- Spray paint (Brown, Black)
- 2 Styrofoam ball
- A plastic bat (toy)
- Paper, printer, scissor
I'm french so there might be english mistakes
Choose Your Beater Bat
For the beater bat I used an old plastic bat. There wimperfect lines on the bat so I had to sand it to smooth everything.
Paint the Bat
To paint the beater bat I used leather brown spray paint.
Add Details to the Bat
For the details I chose a pattern that I found on internet. I cut the pattern on a sheet of paper. Then, I put the paper on the beater bat and I paint the pattern in black with a brush.
I also add the black dots using screw cover painted in black. I drilled holes before gluing them on.
For the "rectangles" on the bat, I used aluminium sheet that I painted in black and spreaded the paint with a towel.
Finally, for the grip, I used white hockey tape that I wrapped around the handle and apply some dirt to weather it.
Choose Your Bludger and Add Effects
For the two Bludger I used 2 styrofoam balls. They are only 1.25$ each so...
The first step is to make the lines and circles (like in the image). You can also add some damage on the ball. Just use whatever tool you want.
Painting the Bludger
I used mostly brown spray paint, but I add a little bit of black paint to make it darker and add a rust effect.
Result
An easy DIY project for everyone who like Harry Potter. It cost almost nothing because I already had everything. Hope you enjoyed it, any comment is welcome.
