R53 Mini Brake Cooling Duct

This is brake cooling solution for the R53 Mini that replaces the driving light with a printable vent

Supplies

This is the cooling pipe 63mm Orange 1m in length

This is the clips you need 2

2 x 10mm wide heavy duty cable ties approx. 30 cm length

Print two cooling ducts from here

Remove Bumper and Lights

  1. remove front bumper good source here just the bumper!
  2. remove the driving lights
  3. loosing the wheel arch liner, by removing the clips, so that it can be cut later and to make the removal of the lights easier
  4. print your vents

  1. install the vents, rotate them so the profile matches the driving lights that were removed
  2. cut the pipe into half 2 x 50cm
  3. Push the pipe on the vent
  4. attach a clip near the end of the cooling pipe


Trim Wheel Arch Liner and Attach

attach the pipe to the subframe leg using the cable tie through the clip , making sure it does not fail on anything, now trim the wheel liner with a sturdy pair of scissors to allow the pipe to pop through slightly, you will need to squash the pipe a bit to avoid it failing the wheel and rubbing and you should make sure, very carefully that it does not interfere with anything, rotate and adjust the outlet as needed to blow on to the brakes

repeat for other side

Reinstall Bumper and Arch Liner

Reinstall clips for wheel arch liner

check that nothing is failing the wheels or any other components
