RAINBOW Jello Cubes #HMS2018

IMG_5624.jpg

These jiggly things are great for a party or a snack! They are easy to make and only require a little patience. This took me about 8 hours so if you’re going to make these, clear an afternoon. You’re gonna want to make them the day before you need them in case you want to let them rest overnight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serving size: about 48-56 cubes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's what you’re going to need:

4 Jell-O Packets(3 oz each)

2 Unflavored gelatin packets

1 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk

9in x 13in baking tray

Your fridge

toothpick(optional)

GETTING STARTED

Spray the pan with a small amount of cooking spray. Measure 3 oz of the first layer's color and add it to 1 cup of boiling water. Once it dissolves, pour 1 cup of cold water in it and let it cool for 5 minutes. Pour it into the baking sheet and let it rest in the fridge for about 25 minutes. If you don't want imperfections in your cubes, use a toothpick to pop bubbles before letting it rest. Also, make sure the layer is level with the pan. If not, I suggest putting a towel under one side.

Creating the MILK Layer

Make right after you put in the first layer. For the milk layer, pour your condensed milk into a large bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water. This part is going to smell weird but it's normal. In a different bowl, add 2 gelatin packet into 3/4 cup of cold water. Let it sit until it forms a weird layer on top of it. Then add 1 cup of hot water and stir it in. Combine both mixtures and stir until it looks like the picture above. This will be your mixture for 3 layers of white. Wait 10 minutes for this to cool and scoop about 1 cup of it onto the existing layer. Let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes.

The CYCLE

After putting in the white layer make your next Jell-O layer by repeating step one. Wait ten minutes for the mixture to cool this time or you will create a hole in the Jell-O like I did. Again, carefully spoon in the mixture making sure not to splash it. Repeat the steps given alternating between the Jell-O and milk layer. Add 5 minutes to the waiting time for each layer. After pouring your last layer, wait at least 3 hours until you cut it or wait over night.

Your Finally Done!

After taking it out of the fridge, cut your Jell-O up. If you pan's sides are vertical, you can cut off the edges to make them square. Use a fork or icing spreader to remove them. Voila, you have just made yourself a rainbow desert! #HMS2018
