The Support for Computer Accessories to Avoid RSI Â Epicondilytis-
Another repetitive stress injury -RSI- often caused by computer workstation is Epicondilytis – pain in elbow tendons -, and maybe you haven´t seen any object that helps you to reduce this RSI. For this reason the principal objective of this workstation is to avoid RSI epicondilytis. Furthermore, it is environmentally friendly and adaptable where you need it. In this instructional slideshow, we will show you how to make a support for computer accessories in your workstation.
You need the arms to be relaxed close to the body, and supported at an angle on a surface because adequate support is impossible on horizontal tables, which may cause more pain, lost effort and inability to work. You will notice that your pain will begin to lessen every day, but you should keep a correct body posture and complete physical therapy for your elbow.

Materials: Buy the Materials and Adapt Them.
- L-shape bracket - (2) 70 mm (L) (maximum) – 4 holes
- Claw nuts – (2)
- Adjustable leveling feet -(2) 60 mm (L) (maximum). Should be attach with Claw nuts.
- Loose-pin door hinges -(2) 60 mm (L)
- Wood screw: Round head screws -(2) 1 inch #8. Flat head screws -(4) 3/8 inch. Drywall screws -(4) ¼ inch. Flat head screws -(4) ¼ inch with fender washers (4) (or substitute big head screw)
- Wood board- (1) 500 mm (W), 400 mm (L), 12 mm (T). Medium size (make adjustment to waist as necessary)
- Wood scraps - (2) 70 mm (W), 180 mm (L), 10 mm (T).
- Wood wedge scraps - (2) 70 mm (W), 70 mm (L), 20 mm (T).
- Rubber scraps - (2) 70 (W), 70 (L), 5 (T) mm
- - (2) 70 (W), 30 (L), 5 (T)mm
- C-clamps (2)

Steps of Construction:
1. Cut the wood board. For specific measurements, please see the photo. General measurements (1) 500 mm (W), 400 mm (L), 12 mm (T).
Preparation of the Wood Scraps
2. Cut wood scraps. Use hacksaw to make the cuts. It may be easier to use a drill vise press.
2a. The wood plank: cut a lateral surface at a 45º angle, and drill a hole onto superior surface with 5/16 wood drill bit.
2b. The wood wedge: cut the wood block into a wedge with the hacksaw from 20 mm to 15mm (see photo). Drill three holes onto superior surface at a 8º angle (approx. see drawing measurements), two lateral holes with 21/64 metal drill bit and one central hole with 11/64 metal drill bit.
3. Hammer claw nut: nail the claw nut into the center hole of the wedge shape.
2a. The wood plank: cut a lateral surface at a 45º angle, and drill a hole onto superior surface with 5/16 wood drill bit.
2b. The wood wedge: cut the wood block into a wedge with the hacksaw from 20 mm to 15mm (see photo). Drill three holes onto superior surface at a 8º angle (approx. see drawing measurements), two lateral holes with 21/64 metal drill bit and one central hole with 11/64 metal drill bit.
3. Hammer claw nut: nail the claw nut into the center hole of the wedge shape.

4. Attach wood scraps onto the under side of the wood board: -Take measurements -
4a. Attach the wood wedge to the wood board using round head screws 1” #8 -

5a. Separate loose-pin hinges and screw one side into angled surface of the wood plank and the other side into the back of the wood board –take measurements (see photo)-
5b. Fixed-pin hinges. Be careful to place the plank in the correct direction.
It should be able to close over the wood wedge (see photo).

6. Screw leveling feet into claw nuts through the holes in the wood plank.
Could be replaced the system – wood wedge, claw nut and leveling feet, by the leveling feet commons, but the support would be unstable (see photo)

7. Screw metal L-shape into the underside of the wood plank using drywall screws ¼

8. Screw rubber square onto L-shape using flat screws 3/8. Its function is to protect the table surface
8a. Screw rubber rectangle onto the vertical side of the L-shape, using round head screws ¼ with fender washers or big head screws.

9. Attach the other system at an equidistant distance. Repeat steps 3 to 8.
10. Use the C-clamps to attach the support to the table.

Installing This in Your Workstation
11. Place the support onto the table and attach the support under the table.
